Ozzy Osborne Cancels Comeback Tour

On Monday, rock star Ozzy Osbourne said he would not attend Power Trip in October due to health issues.

Power Trip is a heavy metal music festival that will be held at The Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, on October 6-8, 2023. Metalica, Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Tools, AC/DC, and Judas Priest will all be performing.

Osbourne revealed 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2003, nearly two decades before. Since then, he’s had various additional health problems and has been spotted, most recently, using a cane for support.

Osbourne said on social media that as painful as it is, he’s had to decide not to perform at  Power Trip in October.

His goal had been to hit the stage again in the summer of 2024, but he jumped when this opportunity presented itself. He said in his statement that his body is telling him that he just isn’t ready yet. He said he’s too proud to have his first show in nearly five years “be half-assed.”

Osbourne assured that his replacement would soon be revealed, and he knew his fans would be pleased because they were his friends.

He concluded his statement by expressing gratitude to his devoted fans, incredible bandmates, and incredible team.

“God Bless, Ozzy.”

Despite Osbourne’s proclaimed retirement from performing in February, the singer had intended to return to the stage as health worries persisted.

Osbourne said at the time that he had realized that he was not physically capable of doing upcoming European/UK tour dates and couldn’t handle the travel.

He said he never thought his touring career would end this way.

Without going from city to city and nation to country, his team is now brainstorming potential performance venues for him to visit.

In 2003, Osbourne had a devastating quad accident. His neck injuries ultimately required 15 screws in his back when he took a fall in 2019.
