DeSantis’ Office To Investigate Inappropriate Drag Show

(PresidentialHill.com)- The administration of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis revealed on Tuesday that it is looking into a Christmas drag show that may have exposed kids to lewd acts.

The performance, which took place at the Broward Center of the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, was a stop on “A Drag Queen Christmas'” national tour.

According to The Floridian, who broke the story first, the occasion includes explicit content and expressions like “t-ts in a box” and inappropriate dances.

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation issued a statement saying

the DBPR is aware of numerous complaints regarding a performance in Fort Lauderdale on December 26 that was marketed to children and contained explicit content. The Department is actively looking into this matter, including the event’s video and pictures. Like in other situations, DPBR will act according to the statement. It is illegal in Florida to expose children to explicit material, violating the Department’s licensing requirements for running a business and holding a liquor license.

According to the statement, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) would be informed of any evidence gathered for possible criminal liability.

According to the statement, the Department frequently looks into these cases based on information received from the public, and “we appreciate that they continue to be brought to our attention.”

They said that investigations into such claims would continue to be a top priority for the Department.

DeSantis has been a conservative fighter on several cultural fronts throughout his tenure in office. He signed legislation prohibiting the teaching of critical race theory in public schools, prohibited the general administration of vaccine mandates, and prohibited teaching gender ideology to young elementary school students.

DeSantis, who easily won reelection in November, is viewed as a potential 2024 presidential contender. Even though the former president still enjoys strong support from Republicans, the Florida governor currently leads Trump in a head-to-head comparison, according to a recent Wall Street Journal poll.
