Biden And DeSantis To Hold Event Just Miles Apart On Same Day

On Monday, as the battle for the presidency in 2024 heats up, President Joe Biden and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will conduct presidential campaign rallies in different parts of Northern California.

A climate speech in Palo Alto, a campaign reception in Los Gatos at 3:30 p.m. local time, and a third event in Atherton almost three hours later have all been scheduled for the president’s California visit.

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman will host the dinner in Los Gatos alongside Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott and his wife, Shannon Hunt-Scott. According to reporting, former state controller Steve Westly is hosting a fundraiser in Atherton with a price tag of $6,600 per person.

KCRA reported that on Monday morning, DeSantis was in Sacramento, California, fundraising at an event sponsored by real estate entrepreneur Steven Eggert and his wife, Pamela. Tickets for the brunch, which took place at a country club, allegedly cost $3,300.

According to KCRA reporter Ashley Zavala, the Florida governor sneaked into the country club through a rear entry to evade the press.

This will be DeSantis’ first visit to Sacramento since early June, when Florida sent two migrant aircraft.

Biden told reporters on Monday, in answer to a query about why DeSantis was still in the city after sending the migrant planes, “It’s hard to comment on things like that.”

DeSantis challenged California Governor Gavin Newsom to “stop pussyfooting around” and enter the 2024 campaign just days before his trip to the state.

During their terms in office, both Biden and DeSantis have attacked one other. At the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, Florida’s governor aimed Biden, wishing America a swift recovery after the damage inflicted by Joe Biden.

The president blasted DeSantis’ actions on Medicaid, and his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, evidently took issue with his Disney comments, stating she “would not get into a fight with Mickey Mouse.”
