(PresidentialHill.com)- Because of her experiences with the American jail system, Chelsea Manning is sure of what happened to Jeffrey Epstein, who was found guilty of sex offenses.
On the H3H3 podcast’s “After Dark” edition from January 10, Manning spoke with hosts Ethan and Hila Klein.
Based on time served as a pretty high-profile prisoner, Manning was asked by Ethan what Manning thought about the circumstances of Epstein’s death.
Chelsea’s response was direct and to the point- a jail murder occurs through murder.
“I know. That stuff happens. Some of these stories can be found in my book.”
Manning said if you want to get rid of a prisoner, that is how it happens. You make it look like suicide.
In his detention cell, where he was awaiting trial on sex trafficking allegations, guards discovered Epstein unresponsive on August 10, 2019.
Even though Epstein’s death was determined to be a suicide by hanging, the circumstances have given rise to several allegations and conspiracy theories.
Manning’s response was based on observations of the American jail system, notably the behavior of the guards.
Manning says that time and time again, the prison guards prove to be the most aggressive inmates. A prisoner is constantly terrified of what a guard might do. Manning doesn’t equate the jail uniform with violence, but it’s different from the Correctional Officer uniform. That instills fear.
Chelsea believes in the rule of thirds. Some guards care, think they are providing a service, and attempt to be just; yet, there is a high turnover rate. Then there is the security personnel who ignore it and view it as a salary. Then there are the sadistic people who steal, lie, cheat, and play games while getting away with it. The remaining third does nothing and turns a blind eye.
That seems to be the rule of fourths, but who’s counting?
Manning’s memoir, which has yet to be given a title, will appear later this year.
