The Bronx rapper, whose real name is Tione Marriot, was shot multiple times at The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ along with another man, Antoine Boyd, 22.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, when police were called to the scene, they found Marriot with multiple gunshot wounds, and Boyd was found with a single gunshot wound.
The shooting occurred after 27-year-old suspect Mohamed Konate attempted to rob Marriot, Boyd, and a third person, 24-year-old Jeffrey Valdez. Boyd and Valdez were both carrying an unlawful weapon at that the time of the robbery.
Detectives from the NYPD and Bergan County Prosecutor’s Office arrested Konate later that day in New York. He was charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Boyd and Valdez were also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and were held at the Bergen County Jail awaiting an initial hearing.
Rapper Lil TJay was signed by Columbia Records in 2018 where his debut album rose to Number 5 on the Billboard 200. He was scheduled to perform at the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park in American Dream Mall on July 22.
The rapper is no stranger to the police. In 2020, he was arrested in Brooklyn after police pulled over the Cadillac Escalade he was riding in and found a cache of guns. He was arraigned on criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, and unlawful possession of marijuana, and was released on a $50,000 bond.
