Shocking Info Revealed About FBI Raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home

A member of special counsel Jack Smith’s staff has a theory that former president Donald Trump’s July 2022 vacation to his home resort, Mar-a-Lago, was an effort to keep the government from investigating him for illegally harboring classified documents.

As part of their probe into whether or not Trump attempted to conceal the papers upon receipt of a subpoena requesting their return, investigators questioned witnesses and mentioned the visit from July 10 to 12. Someone quite close to the ex-president at the time of the trip recalled hearing that Trump was “checking on the boxes.”

Following his departure from the White House, Trump was charged with 40 criminal counts relating to his handling of classified materials. Prosecutors claimed that Trump obstructed the government’s attempts to recover documents containing classified information and refused to return them after multiple requests.

Last year, Trump entered a not-guilty plea to these counts.

On similar accusations, his longtime assistant Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, the property manager of Mar-a-Lago, entered not-guilty pleas. Trump still considers the entire episode to be a political witch hunt.

Given that Trump usually spends the summers at his Bedminster club in New Jersey and that his living quarters at his Mar-a-Lago property were under renovation at the time of the visit, several witnesses regarded the trip as highly odd.

The journey occurred at the same time a second subpoena was issued in late June 2022 seeking surveillance footage from Mar-a-Lago showing Trump associates transporting boxes from the resort’s storage facility to his home.

Like Trump, from the start, the former president’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, referred to the entire documents case as a political farce, accusing prosecutors of deceiving the public and unlawfully releasing evidence.

There have been other indications that Trump was trying to hinder their investigation, and Smith’s involvement with the trip is just the latest.
