(PresidentialHill.com)- Last week, Popeye’s chicken announced that it would be offering a buy one, get one free special on its chicken sandwiches from November 3 until November 9 for customers who order their sandwiches online.
The Louisiana-style fast-food chicken chain announced that in honor of both National Sandwich Day on November 3 and National Fried Chicken Day on November 9, its stores would offer a buy one, get one free promotion for its chicken sandwich for online purchasers.
Customers purchasing a chicken sandwich combo either in the classic or spicy mayo variety using the Popeye’s mobile app or its website Popeyes.com will get a second sandwich at no charge.
In mid-August 2019, Popeye’s released its popular chicken sandwich which it described as a “southern-style” sandwich featuring a choice of regular or “spicy” mayonnaise and pickles. For some reason, the new chicken sandwich became an instant hit, growing into such a big seller that Popeye’s saw long lines at its restaurants from customers eager to buy it. Two weeks after introducing the new chicken sandwich, Popeye’s sold out nationwide.
In a statement at the time of its launch, Popeye’s said the demand for its new chicken sandwich had “far exceeded our very optimistic expectations.” The company had forecast it had enough inventory to last through the end of September 2019. It had not expected its inventory to sell out in just two weeks.
Popeye’s was unable to relaunch the new chicken sandwich until November 2019 due to a lack of supplies.
According to the New York City-based Thrillist, customers can also use the Popeye’s mobile app or website to pre-order the chain’s Cajun Thanksgiving turkeys in time for the holidays.
