It’s not looking good for Kamala Harris in swing states, especially among Catholic voters. A new survey reveals that Donald Trump is leading Vice President Harris by five points among Catholics in seven key battleground states. The former president is garnering 50% of the vote, while Harris trails at 45%.
In states like Wisconsin and Arizona, Trump’s lead is even more significant, which could spell trouble for Harris as the election nears.
At a glance:
- Trump leads Harris by 5 points among Catholic voters in key swing states.
- Trump has significant leads in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan.
- Economy, immigration, and health care are the top issues for these voters.
In Wisconsin, Trump dominates Harris with 57% support to her 39% among Catholic voters. Arizona shows Trump ahead by 8 points, while in North Carolina, it’s a much closer race with Trump holding a slim 1-point lead. Harris does manage to take the lead in Nevada and Pennsylvania, but the margin is razor-thin.
The poll also asked Catholic voters about their top concerns heading into the election. Unsurprisingly, the economy ranked first with 75% of respondents, followed by immigration and health care. These key issues will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the outcome of the election.
James Blair, head of Trump’s political operations, is confident that Trump’s polling position is stronger than ever. In a recent interview, Blair said Trump is currently leading in most battleground states, claiming the former president has never been in such a strong polling position. Meanwhile, Harris’s campaign appears to be on the defensive, with much work to do before Election Day.
It seems Trump’s support among swing state Catholics could give him the edge in what is shaping up to be another fiercely contested election.
The news comes as Trump makes headlines for his fantastic speech, and jokes, at the annual Al Smith dinner, which has won a ton of praise among Catholics already.

Harris, however, just chose not to turn up.
