Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious legal challenges, with his 11th lawsuit filed amid a string of allegations that include racketeering and sex trafficking. Currently in federal detention, Combs was arrested on September 16 in New York City and is awaiting trial. The charges stem from allegations of operating a criminal enterprise involving the coercion and exploitation of women for sex, along with other abuses of power.
Thalia Graves, the latest accuser, claims Combs and his bodyguard drugged and raped her in 2001 while filming the assault. This lawsuit is part of a larger pattern of accusations that have spanned decades, dating back to the 1990s. Combs, who has consistently denied all allegations of criminal wrongdoing, is facing mounting legal battles as more accusers come forward.
Federal prosecutors allege that Combs created a “criminal enterprise” that involved manipulating women through drugs, violence, and his high-profile status. They claim he orchestrated disturbing events called “Freak Offs,” in which women were forced into prolonged sexual encounters that were often filmed without their consent. During raids on his properties in Miami and Los Angeles in March, authorities discovered firearms, ammunition, and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant, adding weight to the charges against him.
Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, where he is housed in an extra-security section alongside high-profile inmates such as cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried. His legal team has been fighting for his release, citing the notoriously harsh conditions of MDC, but his requests for bail have been denied twice. Prosecutors argue that Combs poses a serious flight risk and could potentially influence witnesses if released.
The lawsuit brought by Thalia Graves adds to a growing list of accusers, including Combs’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who previously filed a lawsuit alleging that she was trapped in a cycle of abuse and trafficking for over a decade. Although that case was settled, several other women have since come forward, each with disturbing allegations.
If convicted on the criminal charges, Combs faces a potential sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison. His legal battles are ongoing, and prosecutors have not ruled out further charges as the investigation continues. Despite the severity of the accusations, Combs has maintained his innocence and continues to fight the charges against him.
