(PresidentialHill.com)- Nikki Haley, a former ambassador to the UN, endorsed Mehmet Oz on Thursday for the Republican nomination for the Pennsylvania Senate.
In the November race to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, Oz, a former heart surgeon and host of a daytime TV program, will compete against Lt. Gov. John Fetterman.
Following his thrilling primary victory over Bridgewater CEO David McCormick, Republicans from around the state and country have gathered behind Oz. Oz dispelled the suspicions of certain conservatives that he is left-wing on social matters like abortion and sex changes for minors, thanks to the support of former President Donald Trump.
In a statement to the Daily Caller, Haley said Dr. Oz is a physician, an entrepreneur, and above all, a conservative leader who will fight for Pennsylvania’s citizens. He’ll stop Biden and the DC leftists from harming. Dr. Oz is the secret to winning the Senate, and Pennsylvania is the key to a Republican majority.
Oz has the backing of South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, in addition to every Republican member of Pennsylvania’s congressional delegation. According to Politico, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has already reserved $8 million in Pennsylvania for ad purchases and plans to spend more.
Oz said in a statement to the Daily Caller that he is thrilled to have Ambassador Nikki Haley’s support in this crucial campaign. She is a brave leader who has never wavered in her dedication to the people of the United States. He said we would endeavor to win in November with her help and bring prosperity back to Pennsylvania.
In a contest that might determine who controls the Senate, polls show Fetterman leading Oz by six and nine points, respectively. Since having a stroke in May, Fetterman has run his general election campaign primarily from a distance.
In the 2021–22 election season, Haley has backed 44 candidates through her political action organization, Stand for America PAC. According to Federal Election Commission records, Stand for America PAC has raised close to $13 million during the 2021–22 election cycle and has more than $3.2 million on hand.
