(PresidentialHill.com)- Judicial Watch said it had received records from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Records Unit. These records include 44 photos and five hours of audio/video footage showing Paul Pelosi’s bad behavior during his arrest. Paul Pelosi is the husband of Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House. During the incident, Mr. Pelosi used his wife’s name and told the police that he was a member of a charity for police officers.
Judicial Watch requested the records under the Public Records Act on June 14, 2022, to learn more about Pelosi’s May 28, 2022, arrest in Napa, California, for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Pelosi’s interaction with the CHP officers is shown in the video from the time of his detention. The first thing he says is that he’s a “high profile guy.” The officer replies, “right. I understand you’re a high-profile guy. I’m not out here to draw negative attention to you. If you’re honest with me, you should be worried.
Pelosi then mentions his wife to the officers, saying she is “back on the East Coast.”
Given that Pelosi is a well-known figure, a cop responds to her name being brought up by saying, “I’ll discuss with my supervisor – what he’s willing to do -, and I’ll confer with him as to what he wants to do at that moment.”
Pelosi then demands that he should be able to contact an Uber to pick him up, but the cops clarify that it is against county policy to release a DUI suspect to an Uber driver. Pelosi, though, is adamant that he will “give the Uber driver a tip or whatever the heck he needs.”
The officer answers, “Sir, we’ve done everything we can to cooperate with you,” while Pelosi insists that an Uber driver pick him up.
“We’re just dragging it out at this point.”
Pelosi requests to speak with the captain, but he is told they have already hung up. “We’re going around in circles,” the officer says.
Pelosi provides the police officer with his California driver’s license and his donation card from the “11-99 Foundation,” a charitable organization run by the California Highway Patrol when the officer requests to see his driver’s license. Photos of Pelosi’s Porsche taken at the scene of the collision also display the 11-99 Foundation’s emblem on his license plate.
