(PresidentialHill.com)- Kari Lake, a Republican running for governor of Arizona, denounced remarks made by Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) last Sunday. Cheney pledged to do everything she could to “make sure Kari Lake is not elected.” That includes working for Democrats.
When Trump supporter Lake appeared on Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Maria Bartiromo questioned her response to Cheney’s pledge.
Kari Lake explained that it could be the best gift she’s ever gotten. The Wyoming folks can’t stand her, and she’s sure the Arizonans don’t like Liz Cheney either.
Reports show Cheney made the remarks at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin last Saturday after losing her primary race to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman last month. Cheney referred to Lake as a “dangerous election denier.” She claimed that electing her would be putting the Republic at peril.
Lake explained to Bartiromo that the Republican party is no longer the party of warmongers. The new Republican party is the party of ‘We The People.’ She advised Liz Cheney to update her voter registration because it seems that she is a Democrat, after all.
According to reports, one of ten Republicans in the House who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump was Cheney. She made the comments when asked if she would support Lake’s opponent, Arizona Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. Cheney also declared she wouldn’t be casting a ballot for her old GOP challenger, Harriet Hageman. When asked if she would prefer the Democrats held a majority in the House following the midterm elections, Cheney remarked it was a “tough” question.
In a Tweet, Lake remarked that Cheney was exerting more effort to elect Democrats than she did to win her own primary.
In response to a video of Cheney promising to campaign against Lake, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) wrote that in 2020, Liz Cheney was the GOP House conference chair, and she endorsed my primary opponent. I triumphed by an 81% to 19% margin.
Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) tweeted that Liz Cheney was hammered in her “home” state of Wyoming by 40+ points. But now we’re meant to think she has what it takes to help defeat Kari Lake.
Liz Cheney is the answer to the question nobody asked.
