John Kasich Says There’s “No Way” Trump Will Win 2024

There is “no way” former president Donald Trump would return to the White Office, Republican former Ohio governor John Kasich said on Tuesday as criminal charges against Trump continued to build.

Kasich said on MSNBC that while the GOP “could put up” with the NYC trial where Trump was arraigned on Tuesday, an investigation into the former President trying to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia and an investigation by the Justice Department into his handling of classified documents could “be too much water for him to take.”

But, the former governor conceded that Trump is a skilled escape artist, so “we’ll have to see what happens.”

Kasich said that he knows one thing-  There’s no way the guy will be president. He noted that independent voters and “traditional” Republicans “would never, ever” support another term in office for Trump. “Not in a million years,” Kasich said.

He believes there is a remarkable degree of exhaustion, and that includes his current supporters, who may see this as a political deal.

Trump turned himself in Tuesday, surrendering to prosecutors. The charges are connected to hush money given to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 campaign. The payment, which was legal, was made to conceal her accusations of an affair.

Meanwhile, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) in Georgia is looking into whether Trump and his friends breached the law in their efforts to influence the outcome of the next presidential election in 2020.

The Department of Justice has named a special counsel to oversee two separate federal investigations into Trump’s attempts to maintain power after losing to the current president, Joe Biden, and his handling of secret data during his stay in the White House.

Many Democrats are unhappy with DA Alvin Bragg for bringing Trump in on such a weak case, while they believe the much stronger criminal complaints are in Georgia and Mar-a-Lago.
