Hillary Clinton Wants Bans On Drag Shows To Stop

(PresidentialHill.com)- Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state and failed 2016 Democratic candidate, is calling for the bans on drag shows for children to stop, according to The Daily Wire. Speaking to a New York Times reporter while at “Bob Fosse’s Dancin’” on Broadway, Clinton claimed that banning drag shows is a “political stunt.”

In its piece, the Times added that there is a Tennessee law regulating “cabaret” performances. The legislation was signed into law earlier this month by Governor Bill Lee. It protects children from life-altering procedures and drag shows that are not age appropriate. The bill reportedly passed the state House by a 77-16 vote.

The passage of the bill came after an investigation led by Matt Walsh exposed the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) giving minors double mastectomies. After Republican lawmakers got involved, the medical center reportedly ceased operations.

While Republicans are targeting “gender-affirming care” across the country, Ohio became the first state in the union to ban the operations for minors entirely, according to American Pigeon. In a video to his supporters at the beginning of February, former President Donald Trump said that if he was elected again he would stop the “chemical, physical, and emotional mutilation of our youth.”

Conservatives are also railing against drag story hour for children, calling these events abuse. Chaya Raichik, who runs the LibsOfTikTok account, reportedly promoted her own story hour event as an alternative to the event being hosted by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The U.S. military has been promoting drag shows for children as well. Last summer, the Air Force hosted a “kid-friendly” event during its “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Summer Festival,” according to American Pigeon. The event featured a performance from Harpy Daniels, who joined the Navy to fund his drag queen hobby, he told the Navy Times in 2018.
