Criminal Case Developing Against Dr. Anthony Fauci

(PresidentialHill.com)- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said over the weekend that House Republicans are building a case against former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci. The Judiciary Committee Chair also said that while Congress could issue a criminal referral against Fauci to the Justice Department, it is unlikely that Biden’s Department of Justice would do anything with the referral.

During an interview with Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson on Saturday, Jordan said one of the Senate committees could refer criminal charges against Fauci, but given that they are controlled by Democrats, such a referral is doubtful.

He added that House Republicans could potentially make a referral, but he would prefer it if Dr. Fauci would return to the House for further questioning, adding, “But we’re building the case.”

Jordan explained that Congress could make a criminal referral, but since the criminal referral would be going to Biden’s DOJ, he doesn’t know if the referral would be pursued.

Jordan told Benny Johnson that he believes both Fauci and the Centers for Disease Control altered the definition of “gain-of-function” to provide Fauci was “wiggle room.” But he added that he has no doubt researchers were “juicing up this virus” to make it more “deadly.”

On Saturday, Dr. Fauci appeared on Jim Acosta’s weekend show “CNN Newsroom” where he blasted the “craziness” of those who are calling for his prosecution, saying his opponents were “going off the deep end.”

Fauci told Acosta that those spreading “misinformation” and “outright lies” about him are subjecting him and his family to threats. He said he continues to have “protection” due to the threats prompted by the lies told about him.

Fauci said it is “unacceptable” to politicize a public health problem and urged people to unite against a “common enemy.”
