(PresidentialHill.com)- Long-serving Iowa Republican Senator Charles Grassley informed his constituents that he recently underwent major surgery and expected to recover fully. A statement indicates that the senator underwent hip surgery following an injury.
The Des Moines Register reports that Grassley was reelected to an eighth term in the U.S. Senate during the midterm elections in November. He was sworn in on January 3, becoming the senator with the longest tenure.
Grassley joined his grandson, Republican House Speaker Pat Grassley of New Hartford, at the Iowa State Capitol to open the 2023 legislative session.
His colleagues posted encouraging tweets for the senior senator, known for his early morning jogs.
Reports show Grassley is one of two Republican senators investigating allegations of Biden family corruption for years, and they have recently increased their efforts.

Grassley and Johnson had sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, noting that in October 2020, when the New York Post published articles based on evidence from Hunter Biden’s laptop, many news and social media organizations rushed to censor and discredit the initial reporting and falsely labeled it ‘disinformation.’
The senators wrote that Zuckerberg recently appeared to imply that an alert from the Federal Bureau of Investigation was why Facebook made the ill-advised decision to censor articles about Hunter Biden’s laptop.
The mainstream media has finally admitted that the information gleaned from the laptop was authentic and not Russian disinformation.
Reports show whistleblowers have also alleged to Senator Johnson that local FBI leadership instructed its employees not to examine the Hunter Biden laptop immediately after the FBI obtained it.
Jim Jordan, the new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, stated that he believes there has been a seismic shift in the ongoing federal investigation of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.
The Ohio Republican suggested “something is up” with the investigation due to many media outlets’ renewed interest in the story that initially disregarded reports of corruption evidence stemming from materials and emails obtained from a laptop he reportedly abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop in 2019.
Jordan stated that it looked like Joe Biden was involved. And now, we have discovered text messages and emails that link the entire family, including President Joe Biden and Joe’s brother James Biden.
