President Biden’s support among Democrats and independents is at an all-time low, according to a Gallup poll published on Thursday. The number of people identifying as a Democrat has dropped by double digits.
The poll found that 75% of Democrats are happy with Mr. Biden’s job performance, down 11% from last month’s poll. Mr. Biden’s approval rating fell by four percentage points among Independents to 35%.
The percentage of Democrats and Independents is at its lowest since Mr. Biden took office in 2021.
The poll found only 5% of Republicans approve of the president’s performance under Mr. Biden, which is unchanged from last month.
Mr. Biden’s overall approval rating fell to 37%, a loss of 4% from the previous month. Since Mr. Biden began office, Gallup has conducted 33 polls, the fourth time the rating has been below 40%.
From October 2nd to the 23rd, 1,009 adults were polled, yielding a margin of error of 4%.
On Thursday, Gallup issued a poll showing that President Joe Biden’s approval rating among Democrats has dropped to its lowest level within the party since he took office, a drop of 11 points.
Biden’s support rating among Democrats was 75% in the latest survey, down double digits from his 86.5% approval rating in September. His overall approval rating in the latest Gallup survey is 37%, down from 41% in the previous month. His approval rating had dropped below 37% once before, back in April.
According to Gallup, their poll was taken between October 2 and October 23. On October 7 of that year, Hamas launched the deadliest attack yet by Palestinian militants against Israel.
A Gallup study from earlier this year found that Democrats are more likely to side with the Palestinians than Republicans. The polling firm noted in its analysis of Biden’s most recent approval numbers that the vice president’s unwavering support for Israel may have hurt his reputation with those in his party.
