US Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has acknowledged that Joe Biden is deteriorating, but he will continue to back the President no matter what.
Sanders is known as an outsider in the Senate, an open socialist, and an independent.
Sanders said in an interview that Biden has trouble keeping track of names but that he still thinks he’s the Democrat Party’s top contender. Despite Biden’s deterioration, he would rather have him remain.
Sanders, in contrast to Biden’s other backers, is doing more than just sounding the alarm about the risks of a Trump presidency. Even if he has some complaints about Biden’s performance during his almost four years in office, he is firmly supporting him. There are a lot of far-left Democrats, like Sanders, who want Biden to continue on the job, including those in the “Squad.”
“Squad” member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat US Representative from New York, addressed the question of President Biden’s fitness to seek reelection on Instagram Live. The progressive from New York spoke for over an hour, detailing her reasons for supporting Biden along with why she believed it was a poor idea to replace him. Ocasio-Cortez said that anybody assuming that the individuals who want Joe Biden’s departure will inevitably back Vice President Harris is incorrect.
On the other hand, a rising number of Democrats are demanding that Biden resign.
22 Democrats have officially asked the president to drop out of the race so far, and more could soon follow suit.
Biden strongly responded by stating that he had the backing of real people and accusing the Democrat party’s “elites” of being behind such demands. He also dared his skeptics to run against him and announce their intention to do so at the convention.
The president has shown no signs of backing down, writing an open letter in which he attacks his detractors and insists that he is going to stay in the race to the finish, defeat Donald Trump, and win the election.
