PIER FAIL: 1 Dead, Dozens Injured, $230M Spent!

Biden’s Gaza pier fiasco left 62 US service members injured, one dead, and cost taxpayers $230 million for just 20 days of operation before being dismantled due to completely foreseeable weather conditions.

Biden’s $230 Million Disaster: The Gaza Pier Debacle

In yet another stunning example of government incompetence, a Pentagon report released Tuesday has revealed that over 60 U.S. service members were injured while working on former President Biden’s Gaza pier project – dramatically contradicting the administration’s previous claims of just three injuries. This floating monument to government waste, announced during Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address as a humanitarian triumph, turned into a catastrophic failure that cost American taxpayers $230 million for a mere 20 days of operation. And to add insult to injury, the aid that did make it to shore reportedly never reached the civilians it was intended for.

Watch: Scores of American Service Members Injured While Assigned to Build Biden’s Gaza Pier

“More than 60 U.S. service members suffered injuries while working on the pier that former president Joe Biden wanted to build off the coast of Gaza—far more than Biden officials had disclosed—according to a Pentagon report released Tuesday.” – News report

Warnings Ignored, Common Sense Defied

The most infuriating aspect of this entire debacle is that it was completely preventable. USAID staff explicitly warned President Biden about severe weather challenges before construction began. But in typical big-government fashion, those warnings were promptly ignored, and approximately 1,000 U.S. service members were deployed anyway.

The Pentagon inspector general’s report clearly shows that there was a lack of basic planning from the beginning. The Biden administration did not consider important factors, like beach conditions and sea states, when deciding to build a pier in the ocean.

Military Mismanagement and Equipment Failures

The Pentagon watchdog report paints a picture of utter incompetence in how this mission was managed. The Army and Navy failed to coordinate effectively, resulting in equipment damage and communications security risks. Basic military principles of organization were thrown out the window. The report explicitly states that the military “did not meet equipment standards” and failed to “organize, train, and equip forces to meet common joint standards” for the project. This isn’t just bureaucratic jargon – it’s a damning indictment of how our military was mismanaged under the previous administration.

Failed Promises and Squandered Resources

The Biden administration promised that this pier would provide food for 1.5 million Palestinians over three months. Instead, it only served about 450,000 people before being shut down after just 20 days. When asked about this, the Pentagon stopped responding to requests for comments.

Additionally, the operation caused $31 million in damage to military equipment. No one in the administration will be held responsible for this failure, as has happened in the past. American service members were injured, one died, and taxpayers ended up paying for another government disaster that was supposed to be humanitarian aid.
